They take your freedom away – video

This animated documentary follows the struggle of Serigne Tacko Mbengue, an asylum seeker forced to flee his home country of Senegal because of persecution. After travelling to the UK, Mbengue hoped to find acceptance for his ‘crime’ of being gay.

Mbengue is now a spokesperson for the UK organisation ‘Movement for justice: By Any Means Necessary’. A campaign fighting against the racism, homophobia and discrimination of immigrants.

Mbengue said that he sees this film as, “an attempt to give people like me a chance to have their stories heard, a chance for a life of equality and a chance to have a voice.
